Violet Frog Water & Mold Solutions
A long time ago in a land far far away…
Well, actually just a few decades ago and in French Guiana, the founder of Violet Frog, Tom, was on a mapping expedition.
One foggy evening after a long day the nine man expedition team was heading back to their camp by boat. Anxious to wrap up their day and get some much needed rest they encouraged the boat captain to move quickly. The boat suddenly hit a submerged tree, violently lunging all on board instantly into the water. Tom and two others went through instead of over the metal boat railing. In less than a minute the boat capsized and sank, taking all their gear with it including their compasses.
Tom, as well as the other team members were injured, shocked, and found themselves treading water in the fog with just a few meters of visibility around them. Tom had a cracked rib from being hurled through the boat railing and was trying to tread water in full jungle gear and boots. None of the men had any idea which direction to swim to find the shore. Upset and understandably fearful, the men argued amongst themselves as to how to get safely to shore.
That’s when Tom noticed a small violet colored frog in the water just watching him trying to stay afloat. Soon, though, the frog started to swim away. Tom thought that while the men clearly did not know where to go, the frog likely did, and so started swimming after it. Given his injuries and being fully clothed he wasn’t able to swim quickly, but the frog swam slowly enough to allow him to follow.
The frog led Tom to shore, where he was able to call to his team to guide them safely in. The violet frog quite possibly saved Tom’s life as well as those of his team.
Years later when Tom started our company, there was no other name that would do. It had to be Violet Frog.
We sincerely hope that none of our customers ever face the danger or stress of being capsized in a fog, but we understand that having water or mold in your home can be an incredibly stressful situation.

Get Mold Remediation From Our Experts To Avoid Any Health Hazards
Mold is a type of fungus that grows in the form of multicellular filaments called hyphae. In contrast to plants, molds lack chlorophyll and cannot make their own food through photosynthesis. Instead, they derive nutrients by breaking down and decomposing organic matter such as dead leaves, wood, and animal dung.
Some molds also secrete digestive enzymes that dissolve the organic matter and allow the absorption of nutrients. Mold growth is favored by warm, damp, and humid conditions and their spores are found in both indoor and outdoor environments and can be transported by indoor air quality, water, or animals. Once mold spores land on a suitable flat surface, they begin to grow and reproduce.
Mold infestation can cause a variety of health problems, including allergic reactions, asthma attacks, and respiratory infections. Mold remediation is crucial in homes with people more susceptible to the effects of mold because it can cause grave illnesses. Children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems are at increased risk for health problems from mold exposure.
